Uhdenora was established in February 2001 in Milan, Italy. It is a 50/50 joint venture between Gruppo De Nora and Uhde, Germany. The company is active worldwide in designing and supplying chemical and other industrial plants mainly in the following fields:
Chlor alkali - Membrane cell electrolyzer
High strength calcium hypochlorite
Liquid hydrochloric acid electrolysis
Ferric Chloride
Fuel Cells
Uhdenora’s strategy is to develop and introduce, jointly with De Nora, to the market a new generation of electrolysis technologies based on depolarized cathodes - Gas Diffusion Electrodes. These technologies will make available energy savings of a magnitude not even thinkable a few years ago.
In April 2002 the agreement between Gruppo De Nora and Severn Trent Services creates Severn Trent De Nora, a Joint Venture of leading companies for the production and marketing of industrial plants for Seawater and Brine Onsite Hypochlorite Generation.
The Joint Venture encompasses the products, services and operations of Gruppo De Nora’s former subsidiary “De Nora Seaclor” and Severn Trent Service subsidiary of Exceltec International Corp. The product lines included are Seaclor® and Sanilec® seawater electro-chlorination for marine wastewater treatment systems. The Ominclor® disinfection systems and Omnipure® unique and extensive experience of these two entities increases the added value of the products and services offered to the customers.
Severn Trent De Nora represents Gruppo De Nora’s efforts to exploit its historical presence in the field of Onsite Hypochlorite Generation Systems, dating back to 1970.
Electrometals Technologies, is a world leader in the development and supply of electrowinning based around the globally patented EMEW® cell. The electrowinning technology has been demonstrated to achieve significantly enhanced performance over a wide range of flows and effluent conditions, and is now implemented in many mining and industrial settings around the world.
De Nora invested in this star up company in 2003 and holds 17,8% of the company and recently participated to an increase of p.v. capital.
Verdenora is a new company born from UNIFE’s (University of Ferrara) expertises of the Department of Biology and Evolution and Industrie De Nora. Teachers and researchers coming from the University of Ferrara are part of the new Spin-off together with representatives of Industries De Nora. The new Spin-off offers operational and effective solution to various problems faced daily by agricultural operators.
MedNora is a new JV formed by Industrie De Nora in agreement with ALCAVIS a major providers company in the United States for disinfection products to extend its global portfolio of products. The company will be 51 percent owned by Industrie De Nora and 49% percent owned by Alcavis. MedNora will benefit from ALCAVIS process technology expertise in its production facilities located in Gaithersburg (Maryland).
